Dismissal

All classes (except Nursery)

Gates open for parent/carers           3.05pm
Children dismissed 3.15pm

Children will be dismissed by staff when they are confident someone responsible has been identified to collect them. If someone other than a family member is collecting a child they should inform their child's class teacher (or the office staff) - a note in their planner is sufficient.

The older children in school often choose to walk home by themselves but they must do so with a parent/carers permission. Please ensure if you would like your child to make their own way home you have written in their planner.

We kindly ask parents to continue with their excellent record of not encroaching on classes during dismissal. This makes dismissal much quicker and much safer. Thank you.

Children will be dismissed from the following locations:

Nursery

Either from their own entrance or their designated gate.

RX

Designated Reception gate (a member of staff will be waiting - see picture below)

RZ

1X

From their classroom off the main playground. Parents should wait at the bottom of the ramp and make themselves aware to the member of staff

 Very Bad Weather Dismissal

During very heavy rain, etc.:

Reception will continue their regular routine.

Year 1 will join together to be dismissed from 1X's door.

Year 2 will be dismissed from 2X's door.

Year 3 will be dismissed at the end of the day from the gated Early Years area (as pictured).

As a school, the wellbeing and safety of the children is of paramount importance and for this reason, when the Year 3 children are being dismissed from the sheltered area they will always exit through the gate at the end of the fenced area and will not be allowed to exit through either the Nursery or Reception classes’ designated gates. In these instances, a member of staff will be stood at the Year 3 gate.

Years 4, 5 & 6 will either brave the weather or be dismissed from the main exit doors onto the playground.
